Tomo & Toke Bee Ko.
Tomo & Toke Bee Ko. is the Honey and Bee Products part of Tokabago Farm. Honeybees are an essential part of our regenerative organic farm. All of our honey comes from Kauaʻi bees. We practice natural beekeeping, with no antibiotics, pesticides or sugar syrups used in nurturing our bees or in our products. Our production is lower and the costs are higher, but the quality of the honey more than compensates for it. Our raw honey has no additives and is screened but not filtered or pasteurized (heated). Therefore it should not be fed to children under 1 year of age.
Honeycomb in the hive.
We sell our raw honey at the Monday Pau Hana Market at Kukui Grove Center in Līhuʻe, and select honey products such as hot honey, honeycomg, and hot honey (spicy!) at eh Wednesday Culinary Market at the Shops at Kukuiula in Poʻipū See maps below).
We also offer some honey products for sale online. Check out our online store.
We raise our bees on various sites on Kauaʻi. Our current sites are:
Puna Moku, Wailua Ahupuaʻa, not far from Wailua Falls on the East side.
The honey from Wailua is usually light, predominantly from acacia trees such as albizia and monkeypod. Also euclayptus when in bloom, fruit trees in season (avocado, mango, starfruit) and wildflowers.
Kona Moku, Makaweli Ahupuaʻa, just outside of Waimea Town on the West side.
The bees on the West side focus on dry climate forage. Kiawe, false koa, mango, and wildfowers that come out when it rains , a rare thing.
